Bringing together 11 influenza experts from the US CDC, the Chinese CDC, the IHME, senior epidemiologists and virologists from all over the world, the Scientific Committee has been set up to provide recommendations for technical, scientific and related ethical aspects of the GIHSN program.

The Scientific Committee has stressed the importance of collecting high quality timely data to allow for decision making on influenza surveillance and related vaccination programs.
